10 Knox and Sevier companies rank among nation's fastest-growing
Ten area businesses have scored a spot on the 2018 Inc. 5000 list. The list ranks America's fastest-growing private companies. Eighty-five Tennessee businesses made the cut.
Who led the pack?
Priority Ambulance was the top-ranked area business at No. 521 and was the ninth highest in Tennessee.
Headquartered in Knoxville, Priority Ambulance operates about 400 emergency and non-emergency medical vehicles and employs about 2,300 people.
The company reported $106 million in revenue last year and 965 percent growth in three years.
“In less than five years, Priority Ambulance is the fastest-growing national private ambulance service and is now the third largest private ambulance service in the country,” said Priority Ambulance CEO Bryan Gibson in a news release. “This achievement is due to the dedication of our employees and companies that have joined our family. We are proud to celebrate our extraordinary progress with this national ranking.”
Perennial Inc. recipients
Kodak-based Katom Restaurant Supply, owned by Patricia Bible, appeared on the list for the 10th time at No. 3804. The company sells restaurant supplies to commercial and residential customers.
The company reported $127.2 million in 2017 revenues and 96 percent growth over the last three years.
According to Inc., only 142 businesses have made the list 10 times. The company's highest ranking was at No. 1654 in 2012.
Transportation company Axle Logistics secured the second-highest spot at No. 1229, down from its 2016 ranking at 693. The company reported $42.4 million in revenue in 2017 and 393 percent growth in three years.
Mac's LTC Pharmacy Solutions made No. 1422 on Inc.'s list, its first time. The Powell-based company provides pharmaceutical services for senior living communities.
Knoxville's Design Innovation Architects grabbed the No. 1614 spot, up from No. 2931 in 2016. The architectural company reported 288 percent growth in three years and 2017 revenues of $3.1 million.
Kodak based-business Beef Jerky Outlet appeared at No. 2053. The business has more than 100 stores and reported $2.9 million in revenue and three-year growth of 217 percent.
PDS Consulting Solutions, which provides financial services for government contractors, clocked in at No. 2683. PDS is a first-timer and reported $2.8 million in revenues in 2017 and 156 percent growth over three years.
K&P Enterprises, which provides cabinet refacing and home organization services, took spot No. 3515 with $6.2 million in revenues in 2017 and a reported 107 percent three-year growth.
