Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg receives award from USA Today
Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg has been distinguished as the country’s Best New Hotel in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards. A panel of hospitality and travel experts selected 20 hotels from across the nation as finalists for the annual competition, and Margaritaville Resort in Gatlinburg, Tenn., was voted number one by the public.
“It is such an honor to be recognized Best New Hotel in the country by USA TODAY,” said Bob McManus, president and developer of the resort. “This award is a testament to the universal appeal of the Margaritaville lifestyle brand, our amazing team and their quality of service, as well as the unique atmosphere that we provide guests of our beautiful resort.”
Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg first opened to the public June 2018 and is the third Margaritaville property in Tennessee. It features multiple restaurants including the License to Chill Bar and Landshark Bar & Grill, the full-service St. Somewhere Spa, 3,000 square-feet of event space, and indoor and outdoor pools. The resort offers guests a variety of accommodations including unique family suites and options for couples on a mountain getaway, such as Jimmy’s Hideaway, a luxurious bungalow secluded on an adjacent island with a private fire pit and riverfront patio.
“So many people put their hearts and souls into developing this Jimmy Buffett-inspired hotel and into delivering exceptional service to each of our guests,” said Michael Russell, general manager for Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg. “It’s very exciting to see those efforts recognized on such a large stage.”
Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg is fittingly located on its own 4-acre river island at the heart of downtown. The combination of both hammocks and fire pits overlooking the river speaks to the marriage between the relaxed escapism of the Margaritaville brand and the resort’s mountain home in Gatlinburg. Located just minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the resort is ideally situated for endless exploration - it’s within close walking distance of top area attractions and hundreds of boutique shops, entertainment venues, and restaurants.
