Known for its amazing natural beauty, Scott County, TN, with exceptionally reliable power from TVA, an abundance of water, a trained workforce, available industrial space, competitive workers compensation rates and low tax and unionization rates, is also a very attractive business location.
The county has a diverse manufacturing base in injection moulding, industrial belting, metal fabrication and tool and die companies as well as steel building, trailer and mining operations. The presence of these varied industrial operations assures a work force that is diverse and multi-skilled in many trade specialties.
Interstate 75 is easily accessible. Norfolk-Southern Railroad provides rail service to Scott County, and a 5,500-ft. paved runway is available at the Scott County Airport.
Roane State Community College’s Scott County Campus provides two-year associate degrees. In addition, the college offers continuing education opportunities to local business and industries. The Tennessee Technology Center offers training in automotive, business systems, computer information and electronic technologies.
Situated atop the Cumberland Plateau, Scott County is home to a 125,000-acre recreation area, a 140,000-acre wildlife management area, 20,000 acres of ATV trails and a national forest, outdoors recreation opportunities abound in Scott County with equestrian trails, whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, rock climbing and hunting.
A low tax rate and no state income tax allows for a very affordable cost of living.
